Information about the quality of care in New Hampshire's hospitals is only a click away at www.NHQualityCare.org.
The website gives consumers reliable data about treatments for heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia, the most common and costly causes of hospitalization, as well as information related to prevention of surgical infections. The Memorial Hospital is one of 26 hospitals that has voluntarily reported its data for the website.

The measures are described as "recommended care" and are scientifically proven to improve results for patients who receive them. Some of those measures include whether a heart attack patient was given aspirin upon arrival at the hospital, if a blood test was taken on a patient with pneumonia, or if a patient received antibiotics before undergoing surgery.
The Foundation for Healthy Communities initiated the development of NHQualityCare in partnership with the Northeast Health Care Quality Foundation, the state’s Quality Improvement Organization, which analyzes and validates all of the data submitted by the hospitals.

You can easily search for charge information about hospitalizations at any New Hampshire hospital from the most recently reported 12 months of data. For each service at a selected hospital, NHPricePoint users can see the number of patients who received that service, the average length of stay, and the average and median charges for that hospital.
