Where should you go on the Internet to get good health information?

We have put together a list of our favorite websites, and encourage you to use them.

General health information websites

• www.familydoctor.org: A great place to start. You can search diseases or look up symptoms to see if you or your child should see your doctor.
• www.nlm.nih.gov: The National Institute of Health’s medical encyclopedia
• www.4woman.gov: The government’s website dedicated to Women’s healthcare
• www.mercksource.com: The classic Merck Manual, a great body atlas, and access to A.D.A.M. (an independent medical encyclopedia)
• www.my.webmd.com: A popular commercial website
• www.mayoclinic.com: The Mayo Clinic website
• www.diabetes.org: American Diabetes Association
• www.aadenet.org: American Diabetes Educators Association
• www.americanheart.org: American Heart Association
