Interests
Dr. Riss has been a resident of the Mount Washington valley since 1982, with his wife and three children. His interests include conservation issues—chair of Madison Conservation commission and founding member of Trout Pond, which raised $2.2 million to buy the Freedom Town forest. He enjoys sailing, hiking, and farming. His farm includes 5 Scottish highlander cows, 3 donkeys, 4 horses, 2 pigs, 8 sheep, 4 dogs, 5 cats, 2 geese, 7 ducks and 20 guinea fowls.
Dr. Riss has delivered hundreds of babies, cared for thousands of patients, and has been on staff at Memorial Hospital since 1982. “As a family physician, I believe the best way to treat disease is by preventing it with a healthy lifestyle, annual exams, and appropriate testing.”
